Pick Justice Action Launches Sweepstakes

While much of the negative attention Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher has received over the past few months has been in response to her bill, Assembly Bill 5, that reclassified independent contractors, Pick Justice Action is on a mission to ensure that Californians also remember that Gonzalez-Fletcher stood against providing farm workers additional protections and freedoms.

OP-ED: Holding politicians accountable at election time

As we head into a heated election season, with the 2020 Democratic California Presidential Primary right around the corner, we can expect to hear politicians up and down the state repeating their talking points and pandering to different subsections of voters. Unfortunately, far too often these politicians are saying one thing and doing another.

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – California citizens concerned with the impact the new law, AB 5, are taking a stand against the bill’s author, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher.

No Political Cover for Anti-Farm Worker Votes

As Pick Justice Action was working to champion the rights of farm workers, I was surprised to see the San Diego Farm Bureau extend an olive branch (or bouquet of flowers rather) to one of the chief opponents of farm workers rights legislation, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez.

Did Lorena Gonzalez Vote Against Farm Workers?

Last month, Pick Justice Action launched a six-figure ad buy targeting Assembly Member Lorena Gonzalez across TVradio, print and digital advertising, to highlight what they deem as her anti-farm worker record. This may come as a surprise to some who see Gonzalez as a key pro-worker legislator in the state. She’s even garnering some national headlines to the same effect. But as Pick Justice Action points out, once you look at her record, her pristine pro-worker image gets blurry.
